JACK BLACK WILL STAR AS STEVE IN THE UPCOMING LIVE-ACTION ‘MINECRAFT’ MOVIE
Jack Black is set to star in the movie adaptation of Minecraft, the popular block-building adventure game by Mojang Studios and Microsoft.
In this venture, Black will be joined by Jason Momoa, known for his role in Aquaman. Black’s specific role in the film, along with plot details and writing credits, is currently undisclosed, but he is expected to portray the character Steve.
The cast also includes Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, and Sebastian Eugene Hansen. This marks another venture for Jack Black into video game-related films, following his role as Bowser in The Super Mario Bros Movie, which garnered substantial box office success and earned Black his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the song “Peaches.”
Additionally, Black is set to star in Borderlands, based on the video game of the same name, scheduled for release on August 9, 2024.
