This announcement was made on Thursday, urging fellows to apply for available positions.
The specific nature of the jobs was not disclosed, but the program coordinators assured that graduates would find both local and remote opportunities upon logging into their dashboards.
“We are happy to announce that you can now explore job opportunities on the 3MTT Job Boards! These Job Boards are accessible to Fellows who have completed both online courses and ALC training.
Sign up today and apply for roles both locally and remotely,” the announcement read.
3MTT Jobs Promised
During the announcement of the second phase of the program in March, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, highlighted the government’s commitment to providing jobs for the cohort 1 graduates, including internships with partnering companies.
“As we continue to interact, we are working with partners to ensure that those who want to pursue entrepreneurship can be supported to kick off their small businesses, start their technology startups, and hopefully create solutions to many of the problems we face in the country that technology can help address,” Dr. Tijani stated.
Additionally, Dr. Tijani mentioned the possibility of providing unemployment benefits for participants in the program, an initiative supported by President Bola Tinubu, who is dedicated to creating 2 million digital jobs as part of his agenda.
Building a Tech Workforce
Dr. Tijani emphasized the program’s role in building the technical talent necessary for the global digital economy.
“The President has been very clear; he has asked that we also look at the possibility of providing unemployment benefits to those who qualify within this program.
Our goal is to support our people by giving them the skill set required to participate in the global digital economy.
Empowering them strengthens our economy and drives the growth we want to see in our beloved country,” he said.
3MTT Program Overview
The 3MTT program is a key part of the Renewed Hope agenda, aiming to build Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to support its digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.
The program began with 30,000 participants, representing 1% of the 3 million target, and has expanded to 270,000 participants in the second cohort, reaching 10% of the goal.
To achieve its target, the program will be executed in phases based on a framework developed with key stakeholders, including government agencies, training providers, educational institutions, development agencies, and the private sector.
Nigerians are being trained in a variety of skills, including Digital Marketing, Project Management Software, Cloud Platforms Navigation, Data Analysis and Visualization, SEO, CRM Management, Accounting Software, Graphics Design, and UX/UI Design, among others.
