Cops find tactical uniform, bullet proof vest in abandoned structures

A po­lice op­er­a­tion in the East­ern Di­vi­sion Fri­day 12 April 2024, has re­sult­ed in the seizure of a po­lice tac­ti­cal uni­form and oth­er po­lice equip­ment.

The TTPS says of­fi­cers of the Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit were con­duct­ing an ex­er­cise in the San­gre Grande dis­trict be­tween 3 pm and 6:30 pm on Fri­day, with as­sis­tance from the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force. 

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, the of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to North-East­ern Set­tle­ment and tar­get­ed a known or­gan­ised crime group in the area.

The of­fi­cers came up­on four aban­doned struc­tures on lands be­long­ing to the Land Set­tle­ment Agency, which they searched.

The of­fi­cers seized sev­er­al items found on the premis­es:

(1)  One Po­lice is­sued blue tac­ti­cal jack­et

(2)  One black Po­lice tac­ti­cal pants

(3)  One black se­cu­ri­ty bul­let proof vest

(4)  Two (2) TTPS Po­lice patch­es

(5)  One light at­tach­ment for a pis­tol

(6)  One at­tach­ment for a rail of a ri­fle

(7)  One wire­less trans­mit­ter

The TTPS says in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
