Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou: Nigerian-born boxer to face Cameroon MMA star in Saudi Arabia

Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC, has been confirmed as Anthony Joshua’s next opponent.

More information about the fight will be revealed at a press conference on January 15.

On Friday evening, Matchroom and Queensberry announced the fight between Ngannou and Joshua.

Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing said, “Tonight we confirm it’s a done deal! @anthonyjoshua v @francis_ngannou collide on a huge night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – press conference Jan 15 in London with full details dropping soon!”

Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions said: “Another historic night for @RiyadhSeason!

“Press conference and fight date news coming soon. Can’t wait for it all to get started!”

Joshua is a favorite against Ngannou after he dismissed Otto Wallin last December in Saudi Arabia.

The major heavyweight titles are now held by Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who will square off in an uncontested match on February 17, also in Saudi Arabia.
