Chelsea key man Cole Palmer makes surprise Manchester City confession

Cole Palmer has opened up on his surprise move from Manchester City to Chelsea in the summer.

Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer has revealed that he initially had no intention of permanently leaving Manchester City last summer.

After winning the Treble with Pep Guardiola’s side, Palmer joined Chelsea.

However, the England star clarified that his initial plan was a temporary loan rather than a permanent departure from the Premier League champions.

Speaking to Sky Sports (via GOAL), Palmer said: “My thing was to never leave City. That was not my intention. I wanted to go on loan for a year, come back, and be ready for the first team but they said I couldn’t go on loan, either stay or you get sold.

“So then, Chelsea rang me. I said I wanted to go to Chelsea and I’m really happy to be here. I’m very glad I decided to come here.”

Palmer has established himself as a regular player since arriving at Stamford Bridge. He has scored eight goals and provided four assists so far.
